The chorus sings four-part acappella music specially
arranged for women's voices.

LEAD - this part covers a reasonable range and mostly sings
the melody line.
TENOR - usually holds a counter melody with a light
soprano type of sound
BARITONE - requires blending, and suits warmer voices
able to sing intricate intervals
BASS - just the place for 'low-voiced' women, the bass part
provides the foundation of the music and solidifies the four-
part harmony.

Women who sing in the traditional alto range fit well into the
bass/baritone roles.

The music is sung in a 'free' style. For performances no
music books are used and there is no musical backing of any
kind. This makes the group very ‘portable’ with the versatility
to perform at many different venues.

The performances are sometimes enhanced by
choreography, allowing total involvement for singers and
audiences.

Our repertoire includes songs ranging from modern musicals
to jazz/pop, barbershop and an extensive Christmas selection.
How do we do it?

Singers learn the music individually
at times that suit them. We provide
sheet music and electronic learning
tracks for each new song.

Each rehearsal includes work on
vocal and breathing skills,
exercises, and musical and
performance technique.

Section leaders for each of the 4
parts work with smaller groups on
part skills and note & word checking.
